MIRO is an online application that allows you to create interactive and collaborative board. It is used in class, without downloading or additional material. Miro allows the student to explore solutions to a problem (in a problem-based learning approach, for example).

To use it, simply create an account at miro.com. The teacher can access it from any computer equipped with internet access and project the interface via the overhead projector or can give access to all his student group to make them collaborate. For their part, students can connect to the application via their PC / Mac / Tablet (iOS or Android).

The creation of the board is very simple and the interface very ergonomic.

Each user can put their production on the board by using sticky notes or frame or shape. Interesting to use as an ice breaker. You may have a lot of students on the same board and you can give us a shape to contribute. The teacher has a global view of the group of the interaction of the contribution.

You make a board for the sequence or for your course and you make some frames of activities and bring students to you to have a focus group before opening the activities where everyone can collaborate.

Teachers can open or close the contribution framework as they wish.

Advantages :

  • Miro proposes a freemium version
  • Miro allow to create unlimited board or map (with upgraded version)
  • Participants don’t need to create an account
  • Miro proposes a board whose size is infinite
  • Miro integrates content from Dropbox, Slack, Google Drive
  • Miro allows you to annotate, manipulate and paste post it as well as import all types of files (images, video, Pdf, Xcel. … )
